Lake Michigan Twilight Cruise Company Announces Fleet Expansion

CHICAGO—The Lake Michigan Twilight Cruise Company, one of the top providers of luxurious dinner cruises on Lake Michigan, is announcing the addition of two new ships to its fleet for the upcoming summer season. The new ships, Morning Star and Comet, are set to join the fleet in May.

Construction in Scotland began today. Both are diesel-powered catamarans built by Beth-O-Blarney Iron Works. Each ship will have a passenger capacity of 185, significantly higher than the 120-passenger capacity of the existing ships. Both will feature glass bottoms, a new addition to Lake Michigan Twilight Cruise Company ships that will enhance the visual experience on board.

Lake Michigan Twilight Cruise Company experienced its best season ever last year. The company's two current ships, Twilight and Star Gazer, welcomed over 45,000 passengers aboard. This success has paved the way for the company's expansion and new experiences for passengers—one new experience being an interactive cooking class on the top deck of the Morning Star and Comet.

"Really, we should be waiting to announce this until closer to the season, but we’re just so excited for our guests to see our new ships," said Jim Bob, co-founder of Lake Michigan Twilight Cruise Company. "The Morning Star and Comet will be perfect for family outings, date nights, or any celebration. We can’t wait to see our fellow Chicagoans out here on the water enjoying summertime with us”

Since its inception 12 years ago, Lake Michigan Twilight Cruise Company has delighted passengers with its brunch, dinner, and late-night cocktail cruises. Every year, the season begins in early June and runs through the end of October. Over 12 years, Lake Michigan Twilight Cruise Company has served almost 500,000 passengers aboard and garnered over $10 million in revenue.
